How to Audition

What you will need:

One minute song (required for singing roles): 

  • Prepare and memorize a one-minute version of a song from a published musical (in the style of the show) with MP3 accompaniment

Optional Dance Clip: 

  • Send a one minute dance clip demonstrating technical skill in ballet, jazz and/or tap.

Optional Monologue:

  • If you have a 1 minute monologue, feel free to show us this! This show has a lot of strong acting roles!

Completed audition profile/form:

Project Performer Productions 501(c)(3) offers scholarship opportunities for aspiring, performers ages 8-18 with financial need. If you feel like you may qualify, please email us using the button below. We will send you a scholarship form and our application will be reviewed by our board. Thank you!

Wilfred Paloma, Director

Wilfred is an Actors’ Equity Association member with an M.A. in Theatre Arts from San Diego State University and a B.A. in Theatre Performance; graduate of the MCIT Acting Studio. Currently a San Diego State University Graduate candidate in Musical Theatre MFA program. Past credits include: Light Years Away (La Jolla Playhouse), Eighty-Sixed (Diversionary), Oh Wonderous Night(SeaWorld), Full Monty (SDSU), and A Semicolon is a Double (Scripps Ranch Theatre). Directing credits include: Kasama (Southwestern College), Potion (Moxie Theatre), and School of Rock (Junior Theatre). Choreographer credits include: Hunchback of Notre Dame (Junior Theatre), Lion King Jr. (Young Actor’s Theatre), Shrek (Our Lady of Peace Academy), and Hall Pass (Blindspot Collective). Wilfred is an Adjunct Professor at Grossmont College and Southwestern College. Wilfred directed the 2022 TeenVersionary program a Devised Theatre piece which performed as part of the 2022 LGBTQIA+ Pride Festival. Beatrice Crosbie, Music Director

Beatrice Crosbie (she/her) recently relocated back to San Diego from NYC and is so glad to be back in California where she grew up performing. UCLA alumni, Beatrice has performed professionally around the world and across the country in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (1st International Tour), 42nd Street (National Tour), Dr Suess' Grinch (National Tour), An American In Paris (Regional), Mary Poppins (Regional). Singing has always been Beatrice's first love and led her to begin teaching Private Voice, Vocal Ensemble, and Musical Theatre. Committed to continuing education, she is now pursuing a Masters in Speech Therapy to better serve her students in their vocal journeys!

Kayla Schaffroth, Choreographer

Kayla Schaffroth (she/her) is an award-winning choreographer and owner of Project Performer. She discovered her love for coaching young performers early on. Her students have booked on-camera/VO work on Disney, Netflix, Paramount and more. Theatrically, you can see her students on all the professional San Diego stages (Old Globe, Moonlight Theatre, San Diego Musical Theatre). Her happy place is at Project Performer, working with the next generation of performers. She looks forward to working with you!
