Cary Barberich, PT, DPT
Cary Barberich, PT, DPT earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Columbia University and her BFA in Acting from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Before pivoting to physical therapy, she danced professionally with ballet, modern, and theater companies in New York, CA, Chicago, and South Carolina, performing in works such as David Parsons' The Envelope, Jill Bahr's Rite of Spring, Josie Walsh's Avalon, John Deluca’s The King and I at Broadway at Music Circus, and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, along with classical works including The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, and Sleeping Beauty.
Cary's 19 years of physical therapy experience includes specialties in Women's Health and pelvic floor therapy, balance and vestibular therapy, neurology, and orthopedics. Combining her PT expertise and professional dance career give Cary a unique understanding of the dancer's body from both the stage and the clinic. Cary is also Pilates certified since 1998, having practiced in both NYC and SF.
Cary continues to dance, choreograph, and produce shows locally in San Diego's North County with a performance group she co-founded, The Underground. She brings that same passion into every pre-pointe class and private Strength & Technique session — helping dancers build the strength, technique, and body awareness to prevent injury and dance for a lifetime.
